Sophomore guard
Jaylen McMurray scored a season-best 25 points and recorded her first double-double by grabbing 12 rebounds to lead the Legion Collegiate Academy Girls Team to a convincing 55-17 win over the host York Prep Academy Patriots on Friday night.
McMurray came up short in a bid for a triple-double as she finished with 7 assists to go along with the 25 points and 12 boards. Freshmen
Amelia Williams and
Kaitlyn Garvin also got into the scoring action as both reached double figures. Williams scored 16 points and Garvin finished with 11.
The win evens LCA's record at 3-3 as Coach John Edwards' team will try to get on the winning side of the ledger when it participates in the Carolina Girls Hoops Report Tournament on Dec. 16 in Charlotte.
