The Legion Collegiate Academy boys soccer team returned to action at Garinger High School on Tuesday night where it fell 6-2 to the No. 24 ranked team in North Carolina after taking a lead with 20 minutes left in the game.
The loss evens the Lancers' record at 4-4-2 on the season with three games left.
After trailing 1-0 at halftime, Coach Jim Finnerty's Lancers battled back to score two goals by senior Nate and junior
Bryan Jeudy to lead 2-1 with twenty minutes left in the contest, but then a couple of red cards whistled on the Lancers were too much to overcome. After the first red card was called and forced Legion to play a man down, Garinger quickly scored two goals to reclaim a 3-2 lead. Then the second red card was called and Legion could not compete being two players down and Garinger scored three more goals in the final minutes to claim the victory.
The Lancers will return to action next Monday, Oct. 21, when they travel to Butler High School in Matthews, NC for a 6:00 p.m.start.
