The Legion Collegiate Academy JV Baseball Team took advantage of 14 bases on balls to defeat host Union County 13-3 on Thursday in a game called after five innings because of the 10-run rule.

The Lancers scored all 13 runs in the first four innings.  LCA scored one run in the first, three in the second, one more in the third, and then erupted for eight runs in the fourth inning thanks to a Union County pitching staff that walked six Lancers and allowed three hits, including a triple by Nico Nunziato.

Tate Olney was responsible for helping to stake Legion to an early 4-0 lead after two innings as the sophomore shortstop had a single and triple to dirve in three runs.  

Karras Peterson started the game and earned the win as he pitched three innings while allowing the three runs and five hits.  He struck out four and walked two. James Petty pitched two scoreless and hitless innings to nail down the victory.
