Legion Collegiate Academy's 11th ranked girls' volleyball team defeated charter school rival Gray Collegiate Academy on the road Thursday night by a score of 3-1.
The set scores were 25-13, 21-25, 25-19, 25-22 as the Lancers improve to 5-2 on the season.
Outside hitter
Addison Burke, a 6-1 senior from Fort Mill, had 16 kills and four blocks while rightside hitter
Bryanna Young, a 6-1 senior from Rock Hill, collected 13 kills and seven service aces to lead the Lancer offense. Junior Hannah Spatola from York also contributed to Legion's strong serving game with seven aces. Setter
Sophie Larner came up with a big night as the senior from Fort Mill dished out 32 assists.
Legion's next game will be at Dutch Fork High School on Tuesday, Sept. 3, starting at 6:30 p.m. The Lancers will be at home on Sept. 4 to face Palisades High School at 6:30.Â
