Senior outside hitter Addison Burke reached the 1,000 career kill milestone on Monday night, but the Legion Collegiate Academy Lancers saw their 12-match winning streak snapped at home by Cardinal Newman in a battle of Top 20 teams.

Legion, which entered the match as the 14th ranked team in South Carolina according to MaxPreps, falls to 13-3 on the season while Cardinal Newman, the 13th ranked team, improves to 18-3.

Burke finished with a team-high 14 Kills, and had 3 aces, and 3 blocks while Bryanna Young collected 13 kills, 2 blocks, and 3 digs. Sophie Larner set the offense with 31 assists.

The Lancer varsity travels to Phillip SImmons High School this weekend for a two-day tournament that includes a field of nine schools, and the JV team heads to Hillcrest for a one-day tournament on Saturday.
