The Legion Collegiate Academy boys soccer team played one of the top North Carolina Independent High Schools to a 2-2 tie on Thursday afternoon at LCA's new home soccer field.
In their match against Rabun Gap-Nacoochee, the Lancers jumped out to a 2-0 lead, but were not able to close the deal. According to head coach Jim Finnerty, Legion made some defensive mistakes that allowed the visitors to tie the game, and then he said his team could not finish one of many chances down the stretch to get the win.
The Lancers are now 4-3-2 on the season while Rabun Gap is 13-3-2.
Junior midfielder
Tristan Blake put the Lancers on the board first while freshman forward
Alex Moore made it 2-0 with his first goal of the season.
Legion will not play again until Friday, Sept. 27, when it travels to Charlotte Country Day for a 6 p.m. match.
