Legion Collegiate Academy's girls' volleyball team swept five matches on Saturday to capture the Westside High School Tournament in Anderson, SC.
The Lancers have now won 10 straight matches and improve their season record to 12-2.
In Anderson, Legion claimed five matches by winning all 10 sets. The five 2-0 wins came over host Westside, Easley High School, Ninety-Six High School, Crescent High School, and Oak-West High School in the championship match.
In the match against Westside, senior setter
Sophie Larner handed out 15 assists and senior outside hitter Addison had six kills. Sophomore
Ana Mendez led the Lancers with four service aces while senior
Anya Pershin was strong defensively with seven digs. In the Easley win, Burke led the Lancers in kills with seven while senior rightside hitter
Bryanna Young collected four kills, three digs and one ace. Larner dished out 13 assists. In the win over Ninety-Six, Burke knocked down 10 kills while Larner had eight assists and senior
Camille McKinney had nine assists.
In the semi-final victory over Crescent, Larner led the offensive attack with 20 assists and also had three blocks. Burke and Young finished with eight and six kills, respectively while Pershin led the defense with seven digs. The championship match against West Oak featured 29 assists from Larner, 15 kills by Burke, and 17 digs by Pershin.
