Af trio of Lancers scored in double figures as the Legion Collegiate Academy girls' basketball team defeated Arborbrook Christian Academy at home on Thursday.
LaKiara Alexander led Legion with 14 points while
Devin Long scored 13 and
Amelia Williams had 10 for the Lancers who improve to 13-6 on the season.
The Lancers jumped out to a 27-11 lead after the first quarter as seven different players scored points. Legion finished the game by connecting on 11 three-point field goals, led by Long who made four from long distance.
Next up for Legion is an appearance in the She Got Game Classic in Atlanta, Jan. 3-5. The Lancers will face Valor Christian Academy out of Georgia on Saturday at 4:00 p.m. and Mt. Zion out of Daley, MD on Sunday at 10:30 a.m.. The games will be played at the Lake Point Sports complex in Emerson, GA. A total of 54 teams from Georgia, North and South Carolina, Alabama, Louisiana, Florida, Tennessee, Texas and Arizona are entered in the weekend event.
