The Legion Collegiate boys' basketball team closed the second quarter with a 11-2 run and went on to defeat Mountain View Prep on Tuesday night at home.
Isaiah Worley was again the leading scorer for the Lancers as he finished with 17 points as Legion improved to 5-15 on the season.
The Lancers trailed 14-11 after the first quarter before Worley erupted for nine second quarter points to give his team a 27-21 lead at halftime. Legion never trailed again as it led 39-34 after three periods and used good ball control to run down the clock in the final three minutes of the game.
Nico Byrd scored six of the Lancers' 10 fourth quarter points to help seal the victory.
The Legion boys will be back in action on Friday night when they host the South Charlotte Thunder at 6:30 p.m. following the JV boys game at 4:00 p.m. and the Lancer girls at 5:15.

Austin Kennedy scored 19 points to lead the Legion JV boys to its third straight victory with a 44-33 win on Tuesday night over Mountain View Prep.
The Lancers trailed 20-18 at halftime, but came out strong in the third period behind Kennedy's nine points to take 31-27 lead and then outscored MVP 13-5 in the fourth quarter to win going away.
The victory improves the JV team's record to 4-6.
