Amelia Mason was dominant in the circle as the right hander rang up 11 strikeouts to lead the Legion Collegiate Academy girls' softball team to a 5-2 victory over Myers Park on Tuesday.

Mason surrendered two hits and two runs over seven innings while walking one.

Emma Dade and El Desermia led the Lancer offense with three hits each, including solo home runs in the seventh inning. Dad also had a double in the third..

The Lancers got on the board in the top of the first. with the help of a Myers Park error. 

Legion added to the lead with one run in the third on Dade's RBI double to center field. Myers Park tied the game in the bottom of the fourth.

The game remained tied until the top of the seventh inning when El Desermia and Dade blasted back-to-back home runs,  and Savannah Cornwell drove home the final run on a ground out.

Legion  tallied 11 hits in the game. In addition to Dade's and Desermia's big bats,. Gracyn Hagler collected two hits for the Lancers.

Legion Collegiate Academy returns home on Wednesday to host Lancaster at 7:00 p.m.
