Legion Collegiate Academy's softball team won two out of three games in the Byrnes High School Lady Rebel Invitational on Saturday as they defeatd Lugoff-Elgin High School 11-7 and Palmetto High School 13-5, but lost to Gaffney High School 7-3.
were triumphant over LEHS Varsity Lady Demons 11-7 on Saturday.
The Lancers opened the day by taking a 4-3 lead over Lugoff-Elgin after one inning.
Emma Dade singled, scoring one run,
Amelia Mason drew a walk to score one run, and Liliana Galloway singled home two runs.
LEHS tied the game at four in the top of the second, and then reclaimed the lead at 6-4 in the third. Legion flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the third, scoring seven runs on five hits to take the lead, 11-6. The biggest blow in the inning was a two-run single by
Gracyn Hagler.
Brynley Gaa got the starting nod in the circle and gave up five hits and seven runs (one earned) over four innings to earn the win.
Galloway,
Savannah Cornwell, and Dade each collected two hits for Legion, who also drew seven walks for the game.
Legion Collegiate Academy Varsity Lancers could not keep pace with the Gaffney Indians in the second game of the day.
A Lancer error allowed Gaffney to score in the bottom of the first., but Legion took the lead in the top of the second at 2-1.
Gaffney tied the game at two in the bottom of the second. with the help of another Legion error, but turn about is fair play and the Lancers reclaimed the lead at 3-2 in the third inning thanks to a Gaffney error.
Gaffney then took advantage of Legion's starting pitcher
Amelia Mason's wildnesss in the fourth inning to score five runs and take the lead at 7-3.

In the second game of the day, Gaffney took advantage of Legion errors and brief wildness by pitcher Mason to score five runs in the fourth inning to overcome a 3-2 Legion lead and go on to take a 7-3 victory. The Lancers will held to four singles in the game.
Gracyn Hagler drove in four runs with two doubles to lead Legion past Palmetto 13-5 in the final game of the day.. Hagler doubled in the first inning, scoring two runs, and doubled in the third inning, scoring two more Lancers..
Legion broke the game open with eight runs in the third inning. on the way to victory.
Mason bounced back to claim the pitching win as she allowed nine hits and five runs (three earned) over five innings, striking out two and walking one.
Cornwell led Legion with three hits in four at bats from the leadoff position.
