Legion Collegiate Academy's softball team fell 5-2 to Weddington on Tuesday despite out-hitting them eight to five.

Savannah Cornwell and Emma Dade each collected two hits for Legion which dropped to 6-4-1 on the season..

Weddington got on the board in the third when Emersyn Presutty doubled,home a run, but the Lancers were able to tie the game in the fourth when Dade drove in a run with a double to center field.

Weddington reclaimed the lead in the bottom of the fourth after Ciara Blakney and Lane Arthur had run-scoring doubles to center field and the Lancers weren't able to retake the lead. Despite outhitting Weddington, it was feast or famine for the Lancer hitters who struck out 15 times against winning pitcher Joella Thomas.

The Lancers will travel to Mountain Island Charter for their next game on Thursday.
