The Legion Collegiate Academy Lancer softball team lost at Marvin Ridge 4-1 on Wednesday.
The Lancers' record now stands at 1-1-1 as they prepare to face Mountain Island Charter on Thursday.
After playing four innings of scoreless softball, Marvin Ridge took a 1-0 lead in the fifth inning, but Legion bounced back to tie the game at 1-1 in the sixth inning when El Desermia singled down the left field line to score the tying run.
Marvin Ridge broke up the tie with three runs in the bottom of the sixth, highlighted by a solo home run.
Phifer earned the win for Marvin Ridge as she surrendered five hits and one run over seven innings, striking out five and walking one.
Amelia Mason took the loss for Legion as she went six innings, surrendering all four runs (two earned) on six hits.Mason also led the Lancers at the plate as she went 2 for 2.
Desermia led Legion Collegiate Academy Varsity Lancers with one run batted in. The 3-hole hitter went 1-for-3 on the day. Mason went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead Legion Collegiate Academy Varsity Lancers in hits. Legion Collegiate Academy Varsity Lancers turned two double plays in the game.
