Tate Olney hit two solo home runs and
Hudson Riordan hit his second grand slam in as many days to help lead the Legion Collegiate baseball team to a 9-6 win over Palisades High School on Tuesday morning.
Palisades opened the scoring in the first with two two runs, but Olney's first home run in the second inning cut the deficit in half before
Gavin MacDonald singled down the left field line to drive home the tying run in the third inning.
Legion then took control of the game in the top of the fifth, scoring seven runs on five hits to take the lead, 9-2. The biggest blow in the inning was the grand slam to right field by Riordan.
Cam Towell earned the win for Legion Collegiate Academy Varsity Lancer. The hurler surrendered six hits and two runs over five innings, striking out six and walking one.
Anthony Cipriano and
Will Bartnikowski each appeared in relief for Legion.
Legion tallied 10 hits in the game. Riordan provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Legion Lancers with four runs batted in.
Justin Iannetto, Olney, and MacDonald each collected two hits for the Lancers. Palisades also accumulated 10 hits in the game.
Legion Collegiate Academy Varsity Lancer will travel to T.L. Hanna on Wednesday.
