Jaxson Smithers scored five goals to lead the Legion Collegiate Lancer lacrosse team to a 13-6 home victory on Tuesday over Canisius Prep out of Buffalo, NY.
Playing a rare morning game in front of a nearly 400 fans, the Lancers unleashed an offensive barrage against one of the top three high school lacrosse teams in the Buffalo area. Canisius was making a spring trip through the area.
Smithers had a lot of support from his teammates to help the Lancers extend its winning streak to five straight games and improve its season record to 8-9.
Trent Farley scored two goals and had two assists while
Brady Kahn also scored two goals.Â
Jackson Thalinger scored a goal and added two assists, and
Jack Fleischhauer had a goal.Â
Carter Fields made nine goalkeeper saves and
Caden Yeakley had two assists.Â
Legion will be back in action again on Wednesday as it travels to T.L. Hanna High School for its third game in three days.
