DJ Douglas,
Gage Kimbrell and
Andres Lopez collected three hits each to lead Legion Collegiate Academy over Buford 12-2 on Friday in a game called after five innings due to the 10-run rule.
Douglas singled in the first, third and fourth innings to help his team win its fourth straight game and improve to 15-8 on the season. The Lancers will travel to Wilmington during spring break week for a tournament. They will face North Brunswick in the opening game on Monday.
Legion won thanks in part to a seven-run third inning.
Gage Kimbrell and
Hudson Riordan drove in two runs each with base hits.
Will Bartnikowski doubled home a run,
Tate Olney singled to score one run, and
Andres Lopez had an RBI with a fielders choice groundout.
Charlie Bailey started on the mound for Legion and earned the win. The righthander did not allow a run or a hit over two innings.
Gavin Oakes and
Briggs Lee each appeared in relief.
Legion tallied 16 hits in the game. Kimbrell led Legion Collegiate Academy Varsity Lancer with three runs batted in from the number nine spot in the lineup. In addition to Douglas, Kimbrell and Lopez, the Lancers also had multi hit games from Riordan, Olney, and
