Legion Collegiate Academy's boys baseball team was victorious at Oceanside Collegiate Academy on Wednesday night as the Lancers defeated the Sharks 7-2.
The win improves the Lancers to 10-5 on the season while Oceanside drops to 12-4. The two teams will square off next Monday night in Rock Hill at Winthrop's Founders Field with first pitch set for 6:00 p.m..

Griffin McKain and Oceanside's Charlie Becker were locked in a 1-0 game in favor of the Sharks.
The Lancers got their offense in gear in the fifth inning with five runs to take a 5-1 lead. went back into the lead after stringing together three hits and a couple of fielders choices. Legion added two insurance runs in the top of the seventh inning without the aide of a base hit as the Lancers took advantage of four consecutive walks, an infield out, and a sacrifice fly.
McKain earned the win for Legion as he allowed five hits and two runs over five and two-thirds innings with eight strike out and six walks. Aiden Culler took the loss for Oceanside as the southpaw went just one-third of an inning, allowing five runs on five hits.
Andres Lopez led Legion at the plate with two hits in four at bats. It was the Lancers' patience at the plate that proved to be the big factor in the win as Legion drew 10 walks for the game. with
Hudson Riordan and
Matthew Pond both reaching base three times on walks.
Next up for Legion Collegiate Academy is a game against the ECA Bobcats on Friday in Fayetteville, NC.
