The Legion Collegiate Academy baseball team was shutout on Friday night 9-0 by the ECA Premier Bobcats in Fayetteville, NC.
The loss drops the Lancers to 10-6 on the season as ECA Premier gained revenge for a 5-3 loss it suffered in Rock Hill two weeks ago.
The Lancers were held to just four hits by two ECA pitchers.who combined for 10 strikeouts and walked three batters. Gavin McDonald started for Legion and took the loss as she allowed four runs on four hits, walked five and fanned five in three innings.
Briggs Lee went two innings and gave up four more runs on three hits and walked four.
Gavin Oakes hurled one inning and allowed the final run.
Legion was not able to string together more than one hit in an inning. The only inning that two Lancers reached base was in the fifth when two baserunners reached on a fielding error and a walk.
The Lancers will be back at home on Monday, April 7, when they host Oceanside Collegiate Academy at Winthrop's Founders Field. First pitch is set for 6:00 p.m.
