Macie Tillman led the Legion Lancer Softball team to a 14-8 road win over the Lancaster Bruins as she hit a home run and then showed patience at the plate to draw three walks.
Tillman connected on a two-run homer to left field in the top of the first inning as the Lancers jumped out to a 7-0 lead.,
Amelia Mason and
Brynley Gaa collected one-run singles,
Zoe Davis was struck by a pitch with the bases loaded to driving in a run, and
Savannah Cornwell drove home two runs with a single.
The Lancers piled up 15 hits in the game. Mason and
Emma Dade led the way as both players collected four hits for Legion while hitting back-to-back in the lineup. Mason led Legion with three runs batted in, andr went 4-for-5 on the day.
Mason started in the circle for Legion Collegiate Academy Varsity Lancers. The pitcher surrendered 13 hits and eight runs (five earned) over seven innings, striking out five and walking none. Brylen Lisenby stepped in the circle first for Lancaster. The pitcher gave up seven hits and seven runs over one inning, striking out one and walking two.
Lancaster piled up 13 hits in the game. Briana Cataldo and Olyanna Wheeler each collected three hits for Lancaster. Cataldo went 3-for-4 at the plate and led the team with three runs batted in. Kasyah Stover and Sheridyn Mickles each collected multiple hits for Lancaster.
Legion is now 9-7-1 on the season and will travel to Lincoln Charter for its next game on Thursday.
