Gracyn Hagler passed for 192 yards, including 102 to wide receiver Zoe Davis, but it wasn't enough on Wednesday afternoon for Legion's flag football team to overcome the 49ers as they lost 33-13 at Winget Park in Charlotte.
Hagler completed 13 of 25 passes while Davis made four catches for the Legion entry in the NFL sponsored tournament.Â
One of Davis' catches went for 45 yards and a touchdown. It was the longest play completion of the season. Other Legion players that contributed in the passing attack were Bry Young, who had four catches for 36 yards; Liliana Galloway, three catches for 34 yards; Carolina Cornwell, and two catches for 20 yards. In the rushing game, Legion's Aniya Moultrie had three carries for 53 yards.
Hagler also had a good game on the defensive side as she had five flag pulls and broke up three 49er pass attempts. Davis also broke up three passes while Moultrie had four flag pulls and a pass break up.  Caroline Cornwell had two flag pulls, and Kylie Graney made three flag pulls.
The next game for Legion's flag team in on Saturday, May 17, in the Carolina Panther regional tournament at Hough High School.Â
