Allison Welte came to Legion Collegiate Academy in 2023 after completing work on her M.Ed. in Learning Design from Winthrop University.
A native of Blacksburg, SC, Welte earned a Bachelors' in English from Winthrop in 2019 and then spent four years teaching at Chester High while, at the same time, working toward her Master's degree.
At Legion, Welte teaches English 2 Honors and runs the English Learning Lab. She is also the sponsor for the National Beta Club at LCA.  She was selected as the LCA Teacher of the Year for 2024-25.
"I love teaching English and working with students on their reading and writing skills," Welte said. "Literacy is so important. Something that makes LCA special is that we are able to offer the Learning Lab every single day so any student who is struggling with reading or writing can receive support."
Wlete enjoys spending time with her husband, Ron, and their two dogs.
